Oh Rhett, you left us too soon...My dear cousin, you have left us with so many great spirited memories. You have always been a lover of LIFE!

This past week, I've put on music that reminds me of YOU. I've danced to myself, knowing that it’s what you would’ve loved. You showered us with your light parties, your disappearing light, glove tricks. There was always something amazing to show us!! You were always the center of attention, the person that could liven up the party.

When we were kids, we spent a lot of time at your house. It was the household that had the latest and greatest technology. You carried that on...you always were into your hobbies. You wanted to share that with everyone! So generous with your time and love for gadgets. We’d pull up to your house and you’d be spinning on your head, showing us your break dance moves, your turntables, how to hold fire in your hand, your rollerblading skills. What didn’t you do? You’re also an amazing COOK!

Rhett, your love for food was something that runs deep in our families blood. Your need to share that passion with everyone around you was deeply instilled in you. This ran deep in you! It runs deep in all of us! I am saddened with the thought that we couldn’t get together one last time...to sit and eat together as a family. Sitting and laughing and EATING. WE LOVE FOOD! Food is a legacy you leave with the friends and family you have made throughout the years.

Yesterday, I was looking through a close friends page on Facebook and realized you were a man of affirmations. That was YOUR LOVE LANGUAGE! This is my love language. As much as I don’t like to hear it, I know it’s what moves me and I know now how much it meant to YOU!

I know you’re no longer with us, but YOU will FOREVER be remembered. You are so generous and loving and I am so PROUD of you and everything that you have overcome. We all fight demons, but man, Rhett, you kicked them in the balls!! Again, I’m proud of you and your accomplishments. Your dedication to family. Your dedication to your job and ALL YOUR PASSIONS!

May you always be remembered as a man true to his heart. True to his life. True to his passions....Rest well my dear cousin. Until we meet again...I love you!
